Helen Wyn James was brought up in a welsh speaking family in Llanelli, West Wales. Helen is a graduate of Cardiff University and in 1980 had the dubious honour of being the youngest dentist in the country for 12 months.
After completing her general dental training she spent several years gaining experience in Oral Surgery including an attachment at the John Radcliffe, Oxford. In 1986 Helen opened her first general dental practice and founded Corn Street Dental, Witney in 1988.
Subsequently Helen attended Bristol University and obtained a Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies DPDS(Bristol). The Diploma acknowledges greater depth of knowledge in specific dental subjects. These include Children’s dentistry and gum disease. 2008 prior to the Olympics Helen was enrolled at The Eastman Dental Hospital to study the effect of Sport on Dentistry.
We are proud to have been one of the first practices to be accredited with Denplan Excel ensuring that each member of our team is highly qualified and has the opportunity to continually develop, improve and update their skills.
Helen has previously (May 2018) sold her part of the practice but continues to work part time at Corn Street Dental Practice on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. She works closely with Denplan, has contributed to Pilot schemes and has acted in an advisory capacity on Children’s Dentistry.
